Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) -The Next Tech Era
Introduction:
Brain Computer Interface (BCI) technology is a powerful communication tool between users and systems.This allows a human to control a computer, peripheral, or other electronic devices just using thought.It does not require any external devices or muscle intervention to issue commands and complete the interaction.
Working:

Our brain is full of neurons. It connect with each other to form a super highway for nerve impulses to travel from neuron to neuron to produce thought,hearing, speech or movement. For example if we want to lift something from our hand , then our hand receives a stimulus(signal) from brain and hand will react in response to stimulus by lifting that item. This signal travels at a rate of about 250 feet per second.
The easiest and least invasive method is a use a set of electrodes- a device known as an electroenceplalograph(EEG) --attached
Types Of BCI:
Invasive BCIs:
Invasive BCIs are implanted directly into the grey matter of the brain by neurosurgery.
Partially Invasive:
It is another brain signal reading process which is applied to the inside the skull but outside the grey matter. An electrode Grid is being implanted by surgical incision.
Non-Invasive:
It is the most useful neuron signal imaging method which is applied to the outside of the skull just applied on the scalp.
Applications:
- Provide disabled people with communication, environment control and movement restortion.
- It enhances the control of devices such as wheelchairs, vehicles, or assistance robots .
- This technology will help a lot in medical syetems and its related operations.
- This have a massive application in military operations.
